How to get there
From Anchorage you can fly directly to McCarthy/Kennicott with Copper Valley Air at

From Anchorage or Fairbanks you can drive to the town of Chitna. The highway to Chitna leaves the Richardson Highway at Milepost 82 and it is 30 miles into the historical town of Chitna. From there you can continue to McCarthy/Kennicott on a gravel road. This can take up to two hours depending on the condition of the road.
If you don't want to drive in you can also take a shuttle bus from Chitna which has daily trips.
